District 6 Councilmember Pierluigi Oliverio is hosting a community meeting to discuss two key projects for Willow Glen on Wednesday, December 17. An update will be provided on the Fresh and Easy Neighborhood Market moving into the former Albertsons building at Minnesota and Bird Avenues. For more information on Fresh & Easy, review their website at www.freshandeasy.com. The other project is one which has not yet been formally submitted to the City of San Jose, but it is a new commercial building proposed for the neighborhood business district on Lincoln Avenue (at Willow Street). This property is adjacent to Jamba Juice and wraps the corner around Willow to Willow Street Pizza. The overall project proposes landscaping, office space, public spaces, added parking, new retail and restaurant space. Additionally, Willow Street Pizza and Willow Glen Yogurt will upgrade their stores as part of this project. The owner, Alex Byer from Byer properties (also the owner of the buildings that house Jamba Juice, Noah’s, Pete’s, Powell’s and others) and project architect, Charles Kahn, will be at the meeting to discuss their proposal.
These are important projects for Willow Glen and we are excited about the possibilities that new investments will bring to the business district and its related commercial zones in serving our growing residential population and regional customer base. We hope to see you at the meeting.
Date: Wednesday, December 17th
Time: 7:00 to 8:00 PM
Location: Willows Senior Center, 2175 Lincoln Ave., San Jose, CA 95125
