There are nine basic movement forms in Nia. While Nia is not Yoga nor a yoga class, we do sometimes do poses that are yoga poses or very, very similar.

I am doing a Nia routine now that has yoga moves in it. We do variations on: the Warrior II (Virabhadrasana II), the Extended Side Angle Pose (Utthita Parsvakonasana), then…

There was sooooooo much food.  Much of it was provided by Chef Shawn (best spanakopita I have ever had!), the rest provided by the teachers and attendees.

Noonan moves around to move up toward the Big Leagues

San Jose Giants infielder Nick Noonan has seen a lot of new territory in his minor league career.  Not only has he played for three teams in the Giants’ system this season but the third baseman is playing his third position in as many years.  He has struggled at the plate as he tries to regain the stroke that prompted San Francisco to make him one of six first-round picks in the 2007 draft.…

Wheeler may be the San Francisco Giants' next home-grown star

The San Francisco Giants struck gold in 2007 when they drafted teenage pitcher Madison Bumgarner in the first round of the 2007 draft.  He made it to the Major Leagues in less than two full seasons.  They went back to the well again in 2009 and think they have another gem in righthander Zack Wheeler, currently starting for the San Jose Giants. Blockbuster Closing on Lincoln Avenue

I understand there has been speculation regarding Blockbuster on Lincoln Avenue. It is true that after nearly 13 years on the Avenue, this location will join the hundreds of other Blockbuster stores across the U.S. that have closed. As Landlord to Blockbuster, they officially notified me this week that the store will close on April 10, 2011 and store closing sales will commence on February 28, 2011. We are sad to see a great tenant leave our property and the Avenue, but also look forward to…
