It's a Girl Thing - New Business in Willow Glen

It's a Girl Thing was launched on the premise that most women shop for the following reasons:

- love the overall experience of shopping
- the thrill of the hunt for that one of a kind item
- and most of all love to find a great bargain

Reviews: http://www.yelp.com/biz/its-a-girl-thing-san-jose

It's a Girl Thing opened its doors in June 1st 2007 with a firm belief that consignment shops often uniquely fulfill the very reasons why women shop.

Have you purchased a purse that you adored and lost that loving feeling? Are there pieces of jewelry (from ex's) gathering dust in your jewelry box? How about barely worn shoes stacked in your closet?

If you're like most women, you have answered yes to at least one of these questions. To the rescue comes "It's a Girl Thing" -- a consignment shop devoted exclusively to gently worn jewelry (costume and fine), purses, shoes and accessories - where you can recoup some of your original investment.

The shop also hosts various monthly events, and has provided a venue for numerous fundraisers.

Stop in to say hello and feel free to bring along some of your forgotten treasures. We hope to see you soon! We're located at 860 Willow St. #400 (cross St. Bird Ave.) Across the Walgreens plaza.

It's a Girl Thing presents "Handcrafted Jewelry Trunk Show" April 19th - Saturday Noon-5pm

Please join several of the amazingly talented local artisans that create beautiful handcrafted jewelry! Come and support and meet the women who create the one of a kind jewelry pieces. Here's your opportunity to shop early for Mother's Day, Graduation, and for the June brides!

Here are the web links to some of the participants:

Katya Wittenstein - Fused Glass Jewelry http://415.272.2301www...

Mos Jewelry http://www.mosjewelry.com

This event will also provide a unique opportunity to consult with the artists and place your orders for custom jewelry as well. There will also be a FREE RAFFLE for jewelry from each of the artisans along with other great prizes, and no purchase is necessary to enter the drawing.

I will come by! I take a walk most afternoons after work and will put Willow and Bird on my route. I am currently still at my 9 - 5 (though I work east coast hours so it is more like 5 to 2). I have resigned as of May 31 and will be a full time potter. I have a small home studio and participate in a sale May 2 and 3. I have sold to individuals and a couple of guild sales in other states, but I am nervous about this step.
I will come by and check out your shop - what a great idea!

Hi Cindy. Great idea you have here! I'd love to attend your next get together. I've been in business quite a while but moved my business down to this end of Willow Glen at the same time you opened your shop.

I know this whole Fraud thing with Dan has scared a lot of people. My husband and i went to check out our jewelry. I have to say that my 2carat diamond ring, diamond band, 1carat diamond earings are all real and in fact the jeweler said they were very beautiful diamonds. We also had a friend who recently bought a 2carat engagment ring for his fiance who took it to a gemologist who also said it was a beautiful diamond and the appraisal was right on the money. I am sure Dan didnt pull these scams all the time. Maybe in a time of need, which doesnt justify it; but other jewelers admit it does happen in the business. Hopefully some how Dan could compensate the people that he did this too and maybe some how regain the peoples trust.
