Gillia asked a good question on their blog last week. Where do you go swimming? Are there any good public pools? If you go to a private pool, how do you rate it?
San Jose Swim and Raquet Club. It's close by and great during a heat wave, also has great work out classes. If you join, put down the name of who ever referred you, and they get a free month. (And they'll owe you a pizza, at least.) How do I rate it? It depends on what you want out of it.....
I would like to know about this as well. We want to sign JJ up this summer. I heard about a private community pool off of Meridian and maybe Foxworthy. It might be Almaden something pool? Has anyone heard about this pool? What about the San Jose Swim and Raquet club? I keep meaning to check it out but we have never been.
I have heard that Willow Glen's Markham Middle School (I believe it is located on Cottle?) has recreational swimming and costs something like $2 per visit. It also seems to have a parent/tot swim class, which I plan to look into for my 2 yr. old. I have heard though that it gets very crowded over the summer. Anyone have an experience or information to share on this pool?
San Jose Swim and Raquet Club is terrific. Great laid back atmosphere, a terrific kids pool that is completely separate from the grownup pool, volleyball/sandbox area, play structure and they also offer childcare if you plan in advance. I can't wait for summer as we live there during the summer.
So my wife just signed us up for the Pinehurst Cabana Club. I've never been there, but she has and apparently she liked it well enough to join. So it looks like we've got our local pool picked out for the summer.
Old thread, same topic - any new suggestions for swimming in and around the Willow Glen area? I splurged on season passes to Great America this year - but there are so many hours you can tread water in a crowded wave pool before you despair of the lack of lap swimming available near home on a 100 degree day.
Update: the outdoor pool located off Curtner at the Willow Glen Middle School has afternoon recreational swim times as well as an evening swim on tuesdays and fridays at 7pm. For the moment at least - if there are fewer than 25 people it will have to close.Pool and area were quite clean, I had the lap swim lane to myself last night.
